NEW Student Registration

NEW STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED AN INTAKE WITH DSS WILL COMPLETE THE STEPS BELOW

THIS IS THE SAME PROCESS FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING UNA ONLINE, AT OFF-CAMPUS INSTRUCTIONAL SITES, AND/OR ON CAMPUS 

 COMPLETING NEW STUDENT ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION

Go to http://augusta.accessiblelearning.com/UNA/

  1. Login – Enter your login (UNA email) and password (UNA password), same as you use in UNA Banner/Portal/Canvas

This will take you to the Home Screen which will display the Online Student Application. There will be two different drop-down boxes to select your start term and your expected graduation term. There will also be text boxes for you to enter your personal information (name, UNA email address, etc.)

  1. Complete and Submit Application 
  • User name will be your UNA email without @169577.com
  • USE ONLY YOUR UNA EMAIL ADDRESS
  • Include your STUDENT ID NUMBER (L00, found on MANE card and Banner)
  • Complete the application to the best of your ability

Once your application has been submitted you should receive an email with your next steps within 24/48 business hours.

  1. After you have received your confirmation email with next steps please contact the office to schedule an intake appointment to be completed with DSS Staff
  • Intakes can be scheduled by calling the DSS office at 256-765-4214 or request online using link provided to you in email after application has been submitted

NOTE: If you do not have documentation available, CONTINUE to register by completing as much of the form as possible & complete your intake appointment with DSS Staff

      5. Complete the Impact Statement and submit by uploading into DSS PORTAL

  • This gives you the opportunity to share in your own words how your disability affects you and to state what accommodations you are requesting and why

After you complete the registration in DSS PORTAL, it may take up to 48 business hours to receive an email from DSS confirming your registration with the office. If you do not receive confirmation stating your application has been received, contact the DSS Office at 256-765-4214. 

Accommodations will be approved after review by Disability Support Services Committee review panel.

  • The DSS review panels consist of appointed professional faculty and staff across campus, including a medical professional and a licensed professional counselor. All disability eligibility and accommodation decisions on higher education campuses are made on an individual case-by-case basis.

After your accommodations are approved, you will meet with DSS staff to review approved accommodations

  • You may arrange the meeting through DSS PORTAL or call the DSS office at 256-765-4214 to discuss any further questions or concerns regarding your accommodations.
